Self Portrait - FLATTENED - Suitcase in Chillicothe.jpg

Poignant Imagery is located on a beautiful rural property approximately 30 miles north of Peoria. The fully equipped indoor studio among stunning natural settings—a serene lake, wooded areas, open prairie, and vibrant wildflowers - that provide exceptional backdrops throughout every season, from spring blooms through winter snows.

We specialize in fine-art portraiture, group sessions, landscape art, and aerial drone photography.

Collaboration and creativity are at the core of every session, with a commitment to outstanding customer service and a transformational photography experience that produces enduring works of art.

At Poignant Imagery we believe in the beauty of collaboration. Our approach blends artistic vision with the desires of each client, resulting in photography that captures every cherished moment. Drawing on diverse settings - whether in the fully equipped indoor studio or the natural outdoor locations surrounding the property - we craft personalized, fine-art imagery that reflects the essence of the occasion. As fine-art photographers, we strive to create unique images of individuals by searching for clues on the outside to uncover the person who lies beneath. Our goal is not simply to use light and composition, but to create a beautiful photograph by telling a story.

Illinois' Grand Prairie once covered more than 22 million acres across Illinois, and today less than one-tenth of one percent of that special ecosystem remains.

Some early pioneer settlers, during the first decades of the 1800's, buried their loved ones upon undisturbed and unplowed fragments of the Grand Prairie.

A few tiny, rare remnants of Illinois' prairie still exist in these original, pioneer cemeteries, and this photograph - titled "A Pioneer Cemetery: Unplowed Prairie" - was captured in just such a place.

This is one of my favorite images from #Ratstock4. As Stephanie and I were sitting outside watching the goings-on this extremely photogenic person walked by.
